My son attended 2nd and now 3rd grade at Collier. They do have monthly reading nights and I believe that is plenty as the PARENT should be reading at home with their child nightly. My son adored his 2nd grade teacher and is fond of the teacher this year. After moving from another state my son has adjusted
... Read more very well to Collier and is on the A/B honor roll. I am kept aware daily of 'talking' issues and from my experience the teacher/parent duo works well together. I am currently buying a new house and making every effort to keep my son at Collier through his 5th grade year. There are family dining nights, quarterly awards assemblies and as far as im concerend excellant communication between school and parents! Read less

My child is in his 3rd year here this year. He started with pre K and is currently in 1st. His pre K teacher was good, but his kindergarten teacher was and is the best. Ms Emerson has the best attitude. She teaches her class to always help others and treat others with respect. This year my son has Mrs

This school really does not have a lot to offer children. Reading nights are held once a month if that. In my son's class there are a few kids that act out all the time. Nothing seems to be done, so this makes me question their disciplinary policy. Some of the staff is wonderful, some need replaced.
... Read more Everytime I go in it seem the library is closed. How can kids make their AR goals if they cant get in. Overall, I wish we could take our boys elsewhere, but I will continue having an effect in their education. Read less

My child started C. Wayne some months back and the school is different from the one she left last year, the school is smaller, No accelerating reader nights, and the teacher my child have have to many kids to really be able to help them one on one and my child is in the first grade. I never took a tour

I have had three of my children at C.W.Collier. Two which have IEP's. When I ran up against a teacher that would not follow my sons IEP I too met with resistance on moving him to another class. However after obtaining a Child advocate my son was moved and went from all failing grades to A,B,C. Mrs. Johnson
... Read more was a godsend . This teachers unfailing support helped my son to achieve. She is a wonder with kids that have disabilities. MY other daughter who went into first grade and could not read at all because of a lax kindergarten teacher also received a wonderful teacher named Mrs. Ruiz. By the end of first grade my daughter was doing second grade work. These two teachers are too be commended. Read less

When my daughter was in the second grade she had a teacher that looked at her reading skills as a joke and I was not happy with how she choose to handle the situation. ... Read more Ms. Bedell, who made sure that she was on task and keep us very up to date on her progress. I feel like she was very dedicated and cared dearly for my daughter. She is an instant recommendation for the third grade. My son had Ms. Roye' and I appreicated her teaching skills for my son could remember everything and repeat it at home with ease.
