As parents of two children at Socrates, we can't say enough great things about the school. Our daughter is in the 2nd grade and is adjusting well for her first year there. She came from a private school and was behind when she started Socrates. Her teacher tutors her on her own personal time free

Socrates Academy is a Charter School with Grades K-4. It is a Greek Emmersion school, meaning that 1hr and 40 min a day is in Greek. We consider this a wonderful challenge and a great way to keep our children engaged. This year there are finally great efforts to

Although there is still no Gifted Program, Acclerated Readers, Odyssey Of The Minds, AIG or any program in place for those children who are in need of a more challenging curricullum. We do in fact have 3 teachers for those children with learning difficulties. There is a lot of focus in place for those with learning challenges and no program in place for those with higher abilities. This seems to be very unequal approach to education. Communication about our children's daily lesson plan is extremely modest. Read less

We are very happy with Socrates Academy! What I love about this school is how my child is a person not just a face in the crowd. My child is in a safe, nurturing environment. The staff is wonderful and they do 'team teaching'. This allows each teacher to focus on their own speciality subject. I

The opportunity to learn a foreign language at such a young age is incredible. Most importantly I feel that my child is loved and nurtured by all of the staff. I believe it is called kenisthetics, sp?, it is hands on manipulative learning. Read less

This school provides exceptional academics, a global education for the students, and so much more...but they never forget that the students are children! This is what I adore about this school. The kids work hard in school, but they do it in so many fun ways. They are not loaded down with hours of homework

If you base your rating of this school on traditional scholastics, the school is above par. The teachers are very personable and genuinely seem interested in each child. However, there is no physical education (no organized sports), no liberal arts, (which includes art or music), no cafeteria service,

I also feel that based on my involvement during the first 2 years of this school's existance, that there is no outward appearance of any stability of a well organized, well funded school. I have apprehensions based on the school only being available through the 5th grade and the process in which the students have learned math skills and how it will effect them once they enter another system...if the Socrates Academy makes it that long.
