My children are in high school at NCA and have attended since 5K. I have been affiliated with NCA for 13 years. I feel my children are receiving an excellent education. The administration and teachers have always been available. I am very pleased with every aspect of my children's education.

Administration is very rigid and does not seem to push for higher academic standards from its staff. I would categorize this school as a lower tier private school. If you have options, I would send to a school that has a better reputation academically. I agree with the previous comments in that
... Read more the school does an extremely poor job of administering their standards fairly and communicating with parents (outside of email). You would think from the responses you get when requesting a meeting that they are running a small country and just too busy. Read less

This school was founded on Biblical standards and has not changed since. My children attended the school and are now upstanding Christians with children of there own. Northside is a place where children are taught the Bible just like it should be taught and are grounded and established in the word

We are new to this school coming from a much smaller private Christian school. My children are used to a warm loving environment. So far they have not experienced this at Northside. Children in younger grades need to be nurtured not riddled with excessive rules. The only time my child is permitted

The school is in a crime ridden area but administration assured us they have no problems. All I know is that in the middle of the day my husband (unknown by the school) was walking the halls (doors weren't locked) and wasn't stopped by anyone. Scary. We hope things improve as the year progresses as we really hate to switch schools again. Read less

My child has attended NCA for several years. Like the previous reviews, I feel that my child is safe there. I do too agree with the previous reviewers that the administration can be a bit rigid and legalistic. Also has very conservative political views that are also imposed on children. I also agree
... Read more that as the students get to higher grades that the expectation of excellence and 'push' needed to make them competitive with their counterparts at other schools isn't there. Would also like to see a bit more diversity on the staff, in addition to more investment in the athletic program to continue to open up opportunities for college choices for kids. Surprised that the graduating classes go to more local/lesser known schools vs Ivy League, UNC, etc. Great school for lower grades, but may want to revaluate for middle/high school if you are targeting top tier schools for college. Northside is a big, traditional Christian school in the University City area of Charlotte. Not in a great neighborhood, but I always felt my kids were safe there. My children spent only a short time at Northside. Not a good fit for our family: too legalistic and unfriendly. But they do have a clear,

I think Northside christian Academy is a beautiful school. I wish that they were more conversational with parents. Some teachers there do not even speak when you speak to them.
