Our four children have attended Florence Carlton School from Kindergarten through high school graduation. They all have been well prepared for college. As with any school, what students and parents put in to education is what they will get out of it. There are more opportunities for specialized classes

I go to Florence and I must say that I really don't like it. There's not very many oppotunities in sports or classes. Students are very cliquish and it's hard to fit in. Not a very welcoming school. Over crowded and a lot of things are being cut. There are also elementary and middle school kids around

Florence-Carlton High School is a very under-funded and small school. There are very limited electives and few if any (anymore) AP classes. Sports fees are expensive, but cheap compared to the fees of the larger A and AA schools in the area.

... Read more they are outside of the school building and are on the playground. This school has A-day B-day schedule. Teachers give the students a lot of homework because they think that the students have an extra day to do homework since the students only go into the teacher's class every other day, but the reality is that the students have to use that'extra day' to do homework from the previous day of classes so the students frequently get overwhelmed and become discouraged. I have had 4 children attend all 12 years at the Florence-Carlton School. For a small school, the students have a wide selection of academics and extracurricular. College prep classes are available. School is overcrowded but is an excellent school. Prepares students very well for going on to higher

I have 2 children in FCS, only school they have ever attended. They have done well academically, only complaint is the lack of support for extracirricular activities other than sports. Excellent, approachable staff in all levels & good admin. Small school, small town but overall satisfactory education.

As long as the student can handle aggressive classes, things will go well. If there are problems with reading, comprehension or other learning disabilities, there is little support. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
