We moved here from a different school district, and I was so surprised. I had heard good things about this school, but my kids were bringing home schoolwork that they had already had in their previous school. It was discouraging and disappointing to see that this school was so far behind. The only extra-curricular

I have two children in the Taneyville Public school. In all the time my kids have attended, the teachers have been very open and willing to discuss concerns as well as praises. I have found the entire staff (administration included) to be very concerned for the well being of all students that are attending.

The pricipal and the superintendent have been very helpful in answering any questions I have had as well as addressing any problems to satisfy my concerns. Taneyville is an excellent school. The teachers are very committed to their students. I have had children in the schools system for 18 years. I don't have room to say everything I would love to say about this school. The teachers are very concerned about their students and have produced many high achievers.

They operate on honesty and integrity and are available to anyone who has concerns about their childs education. The staff are caring, and equally devoted to the students. Many of whom, on their own time, donate endless hours to programs that help the students such as wrestling programs, volleyball and STP to name just a few. We are proud of our school and it's students. You would have to look very hard to find a better place to educate your children. We're blessed! Read less

The teacher-student ratio allows for lots of hands on learning experiences and creative teaching approaches and projects. Their Science Olympiad and music festivals provide great opportunities for students. The school sports program revolves almost entirely around basketball and the sole goal is winning,

I would like to see more sport options available such as softball, gymnastics, track, and volleyball offered on an equal time basis as basketball. The staff is unfortunately very cliquish and fosters this attitude in students. The staff and students do not handle new students/families to the community well. Genuine goodwill and sincerity in meeting the social needs of students is extremely low. Academics are well met, but social and emotional issues such as peer pressure, bullying, ostracizing, and shunning are handled ineptly. Students have an 8 hour school day and approximately 15 minutes of recess time. No talking is allowed at lunch and little time is alloted to developing social skills and relationships vital in these formative years. Read less
