I do hope Kickapoo has changed since I attended in the late 80s and early 90s. All that mattered was $$$$. ... Read more for AP courses were not followed, and were based on parental 'pull'. I was lucky to have a few good teachers who cared less how much my parents had in the bank. Had it not been for such teachers I would never have gone to college. My guidence counselor wouldn't even help me get literature on colleges. I went on to earn a BA with honors and went graduate school. The atmosphere was stultifying. Administration cared more about punishment than education. Do your homework before sending your kids to Kickapoo. Read less

I've gone to Kickapoo for three and a half years now and all in all it has been the best time of my life. I've met some amazing teachers and have felt I have been given every oppertunity to achieve that I could have been given. The only real drawback to Kickapoo is that it is in the Springfield school

i graduated from kickapoo a few years ago. and the only reason anyone would ever say something bad about the place, is because they are jelous! they are the best at sports, cheerleading, and clubs!

I graduated from Kickapoo and am now in college. I was very disappointed with what I got from KHS. I graduated a whole year early because, with the size of the school, the classes were just too big to learn effectively. Most of all, many of the teachers were not at all what I expected at what is supposed
... Read more to be a great school. The teachers for the 'honors' courses were interesting and great, but the 'regular' classes were useless. Also, with so many students, I found it easy for people to 'fall between the cracks'. There were still the same 'negative influences' that you would find anywhere. All in all, I regret that I went to this school and strongly encourage one of the smaller area schools. Read less
* In 2006-2007 Missouri used the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in math and in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in communication arts. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
