Oakhill Day School works at each child's pace. For example, if one 3rd grader has mastered the Math curriculum, they move on to the 4th grade Math book. Public speaking,reading music, learning Spanish, and a totally organic lunch menu make Oakhill stand out among area private and public schools. Why settle for Intro to Keyboarding in 6th grade when Oakhill students have already mastered Power Point by 5th grade? They have a great chess club after school for Kindergarten and up. Oakhill Day School was rated best private school in the Northland 3 yrs in a row. It's an outstanding atmosphere with great test results and the kids love it! Parents are encouraged to get involved and the board is always open about what is going on.

My child(ren) is/are at Oakhill and the education is top rate. The schools ITBS scores are the highest in the city and this is why we are there. On the downside, you have to put up with the political crap that goes on. The Board of Trustees is very secretive about everything that goes on. The less

My daughter started school as an Early Learner (age 2)and continued to the 2nd grade. The teachers encourages communication with the parents. This is a great school to for the children's early years.

... Read more to none. Oakhill ITBS test scores are in the top 1% in all grade levels. The environment at the school is very comfortable and relaxed. Amazingly, our children have very little homework. They work hard at school and are able to relax and have fun at home. The families, staff and teachers are very involved and care about the students and one another. At Oakhill, we feel like we're closer to home. We couldn't be happier! Read less

I was very skeptical of 'private school education' as I was public school educated. The class sizes are outstanding, and the teachers are very professional and able to individualize instruction to meet each child where he/she is and move them way beyond. Classes in Art, PE, music, Spanish, and computers

Teachers say they come there because of the parental support they get and the freedom to deviate from a standard curriculum if the students' interest warrents it. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
