Mounds Park Academy is really good at engaging students in their own education. They learn how to solve problems rather than simply memorize answers. It's great to watch students grow as their intellect and self-confidence develop.

The school and class size may be a bit too small for some people. If your kids are highly gifted or have special needs, don't send them there, they can't accommodate them. Our two kids graduated from the school and are now attending small private colleges. Neither we nor our kids thought the money we

MPA has been the best experience for our family. My children have thrived in this wonderful environment! While the tuition is high, the education my children have received is top notch. It is not a school for the 'wealthy' only. The small class sizes, the feeling of community, the language and arts

We've now been at MPA for 6 years. Especially starting in 4th grade, you get your money out of this school. The small classes, great teachers/staff and strong academic focus including world language, arts, music, drama - all beginning as early as Kindergarten allows for an amazing learning environment.

The only downside we've felt at MPA is the significant amount of fund raising (especially in the past few years) needed to support their campus growth efforts. Overall we are very happy and our child would be heart broken if we told her she had to go someplace else! Read less

I disagree with reviewers that advocate that the school instills few values. While there are students who live in a place other than the real world, many maintain a firm grasp of what really is going on. The academic programs the school offers are great - however the small size of the school stops

However, MPA sends a disproportionately large number of kids to the All State Programs, and does very well in the arts (MPA has some of the best speech coaches in the state). The school's small student population translates to having quality of programs dictated by student interest (usually). For the unmotivated child, MPA is great because it surrounds the child with very motivated students. For students with specialized interests, check out Eastview/Applevalley/Eagan. Read less

My children have been at MPA for 4 years and we couldn't be happier. It is a college prep school that knows how to think outside the box. The entire school (PK - 12) is in one building which makes the transition of moving up a grade each year very smooth.
