I went to RAHS and didn't feel I got that great of an education until I got to college. I coasted through the first few years of college and so did many of my friends while others stuggled. If you take the AP courses offered at RAHS, you'll be more than ready for college.

RAHS is a great school for the arts, music, and computers. Classes are crowded, averaging about 30-40 kids (in your average class). It has many oppertunities for people with a low GPA. Like every school, it does have quite a few 'fights' every year. Also the parking lot is overcrowded, not exactly

I just had my first year at RAHS and i liked it alot for someone that didnt like to go to school and just could not wait for school to get out I was not that kind of person i was a person that really liked going to school and i was a hated the days we had off becouse i love going to that school alot.

I disagree with the person who said all that teachers do is patrol the halls and that the school is paranoid. I attended RAHS for four years, and thought the opportunities and teaching were top-notch. I now attend a fairly selective liberal arts college, so do have something to compare the education
... Read more to. Core classes are indeed two of three trimesters, but there are many offerings to help flesh out that third trimester. For example, I had three trimesters of science every year by also signing up for Marine Biology, Forensics, and Anatomy & Physiology, all classes geared toward students who may want that additional third trimester. While the class size increased while I was there, the staff still made individual connections with students. Read less

We have been in Roseville district since Kindergarten and the education has declined each year. Less money obviously has played a part in the cutting of classes and increased fees for extracurricular activities. In regards to discipline, (the middle and high school in particular) there is rigid enforcement with no consideration of the individual circumstances of the incident and the student. The rigid enforcement is, although, selectively enforced. Certain students receive harsher punishments based on their perceived attitude or history. Decline in recent years in commitment to rigorous core academic offerings. Traditional math is back for 2005 thank goodness. ... Read more be careful. Block scheduling means academic classes are only taught 2 of 3 trimesters each year. BUT music and art are offered all 3 trimesters without interruption. For example, if you take foreign language or math and get assigned tri. 1-2, then you could have 9 months off if you get assigned tri. 2-3 the following year. Administration is rigid and inflexible in their course scheduling and general way of doing things. You often don't get requested elective classes, and they make it almost impossible for 9th and 10th graders to take advanced coursework. Read less

I graduated from RAHS in 2000. I transferred here from a high school in Arizona. I think RAHS was a really great school in terms of education, especially in the music and fine arts category. They are accomodating to students with children and have a good athletics and organizations programs.

I went to this school (recently) myself and I can say first hand that teachers do not patrol the hall instead of teaching students. There are quite a few hall monitors that do that job. Don't be discouraged by one persons bitter attitude and attempt to blame everyone and everything except for the person

* In 2007-2008 Minnesota used the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment-II (MCA-II) to test students in reading in grades 3 through 8 and 10, in math in grades 3 through 8 and 11, and in science in grades 5 and 8 and once in high school. The results for reading and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The MCA-II is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Minnesota. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
