Also, please don't put your kids in an online school, I've seen it and my children were completely miserable. I think SLPHS is the best thing thats happened to my kids. I have tried everything. I've taken them to other public schools, private schools, charter and even K12/MNVA online homeschools. But nothing has come close to SLPHS. Its amazing how you can take AP classes in the school and get college credit

If you are a parent that wants nothing but the best for your children and will do anything for them to get a great education, in an extremely safe, non-violent environment, take them to SLPHS. Also, I found that online school is the worst thing for kids. If you think that keeping them in the house and from the outside world is going to help them, its not. Read more ways to address this issue, but as a parent, during my two-year interaction I have only been able to indentify a couple of teachers who are able to engage students who are not walking through their doors with a zest for learning. Without engagement, which is more challenging with many students during adolescent and young adult years, a student will not fair well, even with lots of family support. Yet positive change appears to be on the horizon, but too little and -- for many students and families, particularly those of color at SLPHS -- too late. Read less

We give SLPHS an A+. I am a single-parent,low income and left Minneapolis because the standards were academically/behaviorally abysmal. 'No Child Left Behind' is a catchy phrase with absolutely no credibility - if your child functions well on their own with little need for hands on, this school is okay...not great...however if your child struggles, this is not the place for him/her. ... Read more counselors and administrative staff were perfectly fine with this. If I had not taken a year off of work to extensively tudor my own child, she would never have graduated. There is tremendous parental support of sporting and extracurricular events along with day to day volunteering in the school, however if this were not the case this school would fail miserably. Discipline is non-existant. Think twice about enrolling your student, especially the ones needing extra attention. Read less

Any student who gives a good effort to continue in their academic rigor will be successful and any student who isn't so motivated has many options. To truly be 'left behind', a student would really need to work at it because the staff at St. Louis Park High School is top-notch. The academics at this school are extremely well-respected and challenging for students at all levels. As for the supposed fights at the school-- welcome to America. Look at any High School. I recomend all parents who plan to enroll your child in this school to do some serious questioning and call the police dept. to inquire on the fights and violence. There is extreme violence happening and these students are allowed to come right back. Also a lot of gangs colors and want a be thugs not
