HCA has wonderful, caring teachers, staff, and administration. As our culture changes, the school strives to keep the students focused on a Christlike attitude and necessary learning so the students can bring Godliness into their out of school experiences. Yes peer issues arise...that's part of life.

I have pulled my middle school child out of this school because of the bad attitude of the teachers and principal about giving my child academic help in one area of need. After paying the high cost of private tuition and I have to reteach lessons at home, I decided I was better off just homeschooling
... Read more than to pay a school and still have to take on that responsibility that I was paying the school to take on. There is a relentless amount of homework, with no exceptions made for any student. They just don't care about the kids, only a high academic reputation for the school. Read less

We met with the teacher and guidance counselor and were told by the principal that the teachers are too busy and do not make enough money to give additional time to the students outside of class. The guidance counselor and principal gave us zero help, were very unsympathetic and did not listen to our questions or concerns. Read less

Excellent Education. Godly teachers who love the kids and instill them to grow and take ownership of their faith. New Administration is very good at listening and finding ways to improve the school. The community of the school has been a huge blessing to our family for over 10 years.

... Read more flexibility shown by many secondary staff. When my daughter didn't fit into their ideal student mold she was treated as a nuisance and not given help to succeed. Staff said they cared, but there was no action behind it. Anyone needing any special education be warned-The program is very weak and there are no innovative approaches in their teaching. Many inferior inexperienced teachers along with some excellent ones make up the staff. The principal is rigid, legalistic, lacks compassion and won't listen. The newest administrator seems to want to turn the school around. We pray that he can do it soon, before too many leave. Read less

Our high school student left Heritage after attending for two years to attend the public high school. She was a straight A student at Heritage. We had been told how much harder and accelerated the curriculum was at Heritage, but she has actually experienced the opposite at the local public school. Her
... Read more classes in public school are much more rigourous. She even tested a year behind in her Spanish language class. Not all teachers at HCA are preparing them for the rigourous academic environment they will face in college. Also many of the staff at Heritage have begun to take a legalistic approach to their faith and that which is expected of the students. One year they even gave an award to 'Christian of the Year'. The administration is very disappointing. They do not listen at all. The principal looks depressed all of the time and does not interact with parents. Read less

... Read more quality and character. We've also been impressed with various teachers over the years as well (not all however). Some of them are wonderful and .Some of the newer teachers are very young and not of the same caliber. The principals are the biggest part of the negative. The lack of concern, kindness, compassion, and passion is so glaring in contrast to those who fully show it. Maybe those in power could take lessons from those in lesser positions. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
