Today s high school students find themselves under immense pressure to conform to the thinking of this world. ... Read more now into a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him. When students arrive at Hillcrest, they are on varying points of a spiritual continuum. Some arrive at HLA spiritually vibrant, ready to receive additional instruction and training in the faith. For these students, transformation of the heart has occurred and HLA is the place to strengthen their thinking and to practice the life application of their faith. Others that come are in need of rest. They are tired of the peer pressure and spiritual compromise that was taking hold of them. They come here ready for the spiritually secure environment that allows them to work out their faith and to be strengthened in their walk with Christ. Still others arrive with a life that has been lived on the edge, doing their best to look the part of someone having it all together yet in reality hurt by this world and in desperate need to be transformed. All have one thing in common: they are all on a spiritual journey with the hope and expectation that somehow God will meet them where they are and reveal himself and His purpose to them. Hillcrest Lutheran Academy has been established just for this very purpose. While at Hillcrest, students will receive a holistic education that touches their heart, mind, and soul. They will be challenged to engage their culture, to be Christian in their thinking and actions, and to use their gifts to honor God and advance His kingdom. It has been the experience of many that God does meet them here. For some God will meet them on a mission trip or through a community outreach. For others God will speak to them through a godly and caring instructor. For still others it may be a mentoring dean or friends that God will use to draw them closer to Him. Whatever reason a student comes to Hillcrest or whatever their spiritual condition, we know that God will meet them at Hillcrest and it is our mission that they learn, live, and change for the glory of God.
