Teachers are what makes Concord a great place for my kids. I especially appreciate the one-on-one attention our daughter and two sons received from Mrs. Weichmann and Mrs. Munson and Miss Hunter, respectively. Wow! What a difference it has made in their lives. I am so blessed to have my kids at Concord!

Concord Academy Petoskey just finished its 15 year as a Michigan Charter School. Tremendous odds and obstacles have been overcome in those years because of extraordinary dedication by its founders, administration, teachers, and parents. Concord has consistently performed at or above all other schools

Perhaps that is why the founding Director's return to the school was blocked by a School Board we did not elect and DO NOT WANT? The changes in the direction of the school did not come from the parents who CHOSE the difference that WAS Concord Academy. The lack of vision and leadership continues to hurt many children and the families who changed their lives to be part of this school. Sadly, I cannot recommend this school. Read less

I agree with the last two entries. Please note that these ratings are probably not from the current year (note the age of most of the comments below). The school is not as great as it's founders wanted it to be. Their focus now is on test scores just like every other school. I still say if you teach the children properly, the test

This once great school is a mere shadow of it's former self. Do not make a choice of this school based on it's past performance. When the founding leaders left the school, everything changed. What was once exemplary is now absurd. Not recommended under the current leadership.

I see kids at Concord that I know would 'slip through the cracks' in other systems. In my opinion the success of Concord is due to two things. First, each child has contact with artistic media multiple times per day. By enabling all learning styles to be nourished you are allowing each and every child

The second factor contibuting to the Concord's success--and, more importantly, to the success of its students--is the attitude of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual aid that the Concord Creed creates.
