My children are so blessed to have a school such as this. I have never seen a school where the staff puts so much effort into the kids. Any day in any weather, you will see Mr. Verkerke (Principal) and Mr. Packmayer (V.Principal) standing outside the school greeting the kids as they arrive for the

I believe that holds a big impact on the behavior of the kids and the road they choose to take. Who wants to do something wrong when there's someone right around the corner watching them that cares about them? I love this school and really appreciate the staff and their involvement with my children. Thank you to all of you for your support and caring as well as your discipline and values. Read less
* In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level. Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.

you compare similar schools in this district or area. For example, a rating of 8 indicates that, on average, students in
this school scored better than 70% of the students in the state on the same tests. We have indicated below which tests
were used in calculating these ratings. Other factors should be considered when comparing schools, including teacher
experience, academic programs, extracurricular activities, resources for special needs students, etc. These ratings are
not provided by the state Department of Education, which may have their own rating systems.
