... Read more part of a third generation that has attended St. Johns and we are proud and honored to make the sacrifice to carry on the family tradition. If any parent or visiting parents to the community has concerns or want correct information the Education Commission Comm. has an open forum for folks to express their concerns and gather accurate procedures and policies. Should any parent question the academic quality of our catholic elementaries do your research on why Albion College and Univ. of Michigan offer special enrollment points/incentives if they are a graduate of Lumen Christi. I absolutely disagree with the negative reviews here. I have two children at St. John and have seen them bloom since starting here. There are a great deal of false rumors flying around about children not being allowed to talk during lunch and daily uniform checks. Any parent that spends time with their
... Read more children at lunch or during the school day knows that such reports are grossly inaccurate. The school has an open door policy that encourages parents and caregivers to come in and spend time through the day or to talk with the principal any time. If they would do so, they would see how ridiculously these rumors have blown up and spread causing the current discord throughout the school. Our amazing teachers have stayed in constant contact with us through the year regarding both progress and setbacks, working with us to help our children continue to thrive. Read less

It's a shame to see how poorly the school is doing and the end is in sight. Administration has all but banned the parents from being involved unless you are one of the parents that are the principal's chosen. I thought as Christians that all were equal but this is not how this school sees things.
... Read more My grandchildren currently go to this school and we help with the tuition. I cannot continue to support a school where my children come home crying and upset everyday. The academics have suffered greatly and the prinicpal's only response is 'to keep first things first' and by the time they get to middle school, it will all work out. I guess having second graders crying over their homework because they do not understand it is alright. I'm sorry to see the school going so far down, it really is a shame. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
