HORRIBLE...this school has continued to ride off of its old reputation for years. The principal and most of my child's 6th grade teachers were lacking..big time!! I will say her English teacher was excellent though. My child is an all A student and we couldn't wait until the school year was over. ...  Read more

I am very pleased with the education my son is receiving from the teachers at Ludington. They are young and enthusiastic. The attitude of the office staff and principal is not pleasant. They are very arrogant and I do not think they are happy about the fact of moving to a new building and having to ...  Read more

I am very pleased with this school. I like the staff, and love the parent involvement. My son is really being challenged, I that is exactly what he needs. He is very smart but had become lazy, because at his prior school the work was easy. Ludington will bring out the best in him and show him that ...  Read more

Because the kids are great and the academic scores are very high. We are a dedicated school and have very successful students who become great scholars upon arrival in high school.

MEAP* Test Scores

Grade Level:

Test Year: 2013
Ludington Magnet Middle School
Detroit City School District
Michigan
* In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level. Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
