11 Parent Reviews for Columbia Central High School

I pulled my kids and never looked back. The academics here are pathetic. The faculty seemed incredibly resistant to change. The extra-curriculars were underwhelming.

This school seems a little 'behind' technologically and pedagogically, but altogether provided me with a wonderful education.

Teachers are there for a paycheck and seem to care vary little about the students. Fails to adequately prepare students outside of advanced programs for college. Average facilities.

Weak teachers except for a few, school administrators only like sports, band, choir, acting are looked down upon by them.

Columbia Central needs to eliminate the gold old boys club, beginning with the Superintendent. They need to implement a thorough evaluation of their administrators. The school board and administrators rule by intimidation and do not appreciate the volunteer parents and community members.

Overall the quality of education given at this school isn't too bad, but the popular students and athletic-type students tend to be favored by the administration and teaching staff.

Columbia Central High School needs to concentrate on academics more than sports. Promote students to do community service as part of their graduation process. SAT scores need to improve with a greater concentration on reading skills and vocabulary.
