Our school offers a unique multiage approach, where students stay with the same teachers
... Read more for two consecutive school years. Teachers work closely together to incorporate hands-on learning; activitiy based instruction and thermatice teacing in this multi-ability setting. As a school of choice, we know that our program may not be a good 'fit', for every student's needs. Our program is based upon the following beliefs: Children are 'developmentally different' learners (ie.different rates of growth; different learning styles;). Research based approaches and strategies are applied at Bessie Hoffman, where children learn through engaged, active learning with hands-on projects and real-life activities. Students work cooperatively within a structured classroom environment, however the students are empowered to self-reflect upon their daily learning. Parental involvement is a huge component of our program, and creates a family friendly environment, that enhances students' optimal learning.
