Jefferson is a fine institution for higher learning generations of my family have gone there and it was a great stepping stone of knowledge for all.

I really like all the teachers. They are very nice. They treat the kids very well. The gifted and Talented program are awesome! I was one of the Odyssey Of The Mind State champs , and got to compete in Baltimore. Thanks for saying Goodbye when we left. I appreciate it so much.

Jefferson might not have the best appearance but Jeffersons staff is extremely nice and are there to give a helping hand. I think Jefferson is a great school!

My original comment was made in 2003. I now have only 1 child at JVS. High School has proven to be a blessing for the older 2. That said, there is new leadership at Jefferson. Thank God. There is an atmosphere of discipline and order. The students now know that poor behavior will not be ignored. ...  Read more

I have two children in this school system, thank God one will be in eighth grade next year. I can't believe some of the issue's I have had to call the school over, it is disheartening to me and definately my children.

To be said in JVS's defense is that the school fosters a great sense of belonging to a caring and committed community, an increasingly rare phenonmenon in these digital/ techo/ cyber/ computerized times. My concerns about JVS are many. Lack of leadership, unfriendly environment for parents to enter, no foresight from the community. The list goes on. I have 2 kids in this school right now and I think this school is absoulutly horrible. My child who was in fifth grade when we moved here said he repeated fourth grade.
