Read what parents are saying about Bullis SchoolBullis is excellent I hope that my kids stay until graduation. They are loving it.
Posted by a parent on 10/29/2022We have been so impressed with The Bullis School. The teachers are simply amazing, providing an engaging approach to teaching with equally exciting assignments that taught our child the material, but also, problem solving skills and independence. Everyday our child is excited to start the day and get to school... Bullis literally provides it's students with a safe, fun, exciting experiential learning environment, that then fosters a love of learning.
Posted by a parent on 6/28/2017An outstanding diverse school that values art, academics, and athletics. My three children have THRIVED in this caring and challenging community for 7 years. The new building (with STEM, entrepreneurship, and theatre focus) will place Bullis School well ahead of other comparable institutions in this area. We love this school!!!
Posted by a parent on 1/24/2017Bullis is a terrific and under-rated school with a socioeconomically, ethnically and racially diverse student body with diverse interests. Although I would prefer less emphasis on sports and more on academics, the school boasts a cadre of very strong and motivated students. My 9th grader had some strong teachers in middle school, with the occasional weak instructor. The school could use stronger math teachers, for example. There is also a contingent of the student body and parents with a strong sense of entitlement, but that is true at local public schools as well. I have seen greater socioeconomic diversity at Bullis than at our local public school cluster, which is a plus. The school is in an expansionary phase--in terms of the student body size, programs, and quality of instruction--but class sizes remain small, and balance is still the school motto.
Posted by a community member on 9/10/2016My son is returning for his second year at Bullis, 8th grade. We recently completed the school search and found Bullis to have one of the best well- rounded, balanced programs. It is academically challenging, has small classes, the ability to chose electives or clubs, along with a strong varied sports program. We have found that the teachers are real caring and their communications have been wonderful. Bullis is also prepping students for the future with the STEM and Entrepreneur programs throughout the grades. Bullis has been a wonderful choice and community!

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBMES provides top-notch public education. BMES helped develop an effective IEP for our child's ADHD and speech delay, while nourishing his talents for math, reading, and music. Teachers, counsellors, and administrators are all excellent.Parent Review11mo ago - Potomac Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIncredibly unhealthy work environment, trickling down from the very top. This, of course, affects the children. They deserve so much better. Steer clear.Other Review1mo ago - German International School Washington D.C.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would like to share my experience with the International German School at Washington DC. In my opinion, there were some areas that could be improved. I noticed occasional instances where professionalism among the staff could have been better maintained, including instances of raised voices. Additionally, there were a few incidents where some students displayed behavior that lacked respect towards adults. It would be beneficial for the school to focus on fostering a culture of respect. There were also occasions where certain staff members seemed to exhibit an attitude problem and treated support staff, such as custodians and lunchroom monitors, with a lack of respect. Clear guidelines for professional behavior and communication would greatly benefit the overall atmosphere. While the school charges a considerable tuition fee, I felt that the educational experience provided did not always meet the expectations set by the cost. Some students seemed to lack discipline and disregarded authority, which impacted the learning environment. It was noticeable that some teachers and principals were quite friendly with students, even during lunchtime. This blurred the lines of authority and created an unclear boundary between students and staff.I would caution prospective employees and parents to carefully consider their options before choosing this school. While I cannot speak to the motivations of the administration, I believe it is essential for them to prioritize both the financial aspect and the quality of education. It would be beneficial for the school to focus on establishing a more welcoming and supportive environment. In conclusion, I believe that the International German School at Washington DC has room for improvement in terms of staff professionalism, student behavior, and the overall educational experience. I hope that my feedback is taken constructively and contributes to the betterment of the school.Other Review11mo ago - Our Lady Of Mercy School
