Read what parents are saying about Monsignor Slade Catholic SchoolMonsignor Slade is the not the school for you and your family. There is so much hatred, lieing, and manipulation that occurs on a daily basis in this school. The AoB does not monitor anything and only comes into the school when things need to be covered up. The principal and those that are in powerful positions above him make it there mission to make sure only several families in the community are taken care of and the rest are left to rot. Scandals, racism, and disgusting treatment of staff is a normal routine. Unless you are in the Spalding group or clique your kids will not be protected. The idea of an elementary school is to help young minds flourish. Not destroy them. Absolutely do not send your kids here!
Posted by a parent on 1/13/2024My children have been attending this school for 6 years and every year it gets worst ! Next year is our last in Monsignor slade. If your kid isn’t white or white looking do not send him to school here you aren’t welcome. That’s just one of many reasons , it’s the one I only mention this one because It stands out the most. I could deal with a lot but discrimination just doesn’t work or sit well with me. 8 k a year and you would think things like that don’t happen but they do.
Posted by a community member on 6/7/2023Our experience started off nicely with Slade. I liked the classrooms and great teachers for the primary grades. As the years went on, we started to notice small issues, but by then we were all settled in and chose to look the other way. We eventually enrolled our younger child and that's when it became clear. The administration is completely ineffective. The principal is eager to show her face at events and school drop off/pickup, but you're out of luck if you need anymore than that from her. They can not keep a school nurse for more than 2 years. They will not address bullying - they will only rotate seating arrangements in the classroom. It became appallingly clear that money is all that matters to this school. Two days before one fundraiser ends, they email you about the next. They send raffle tickets home with your very young children with a note that you already owe them for each unrequested ticket. They require you to set up a FACTS account so they have full access to your money. I've had money for field trips taken out before I even saw the permission slip. If you have a gifted child or a child with special needs, they can not accommodate. They put money before the children and families at this school. If you can make it through with an ample bank balance and perfectly average child, you'll probably have a good experience here. It's average at best. To be fair, there are several wonderful teachers at this school... if they stay. Their staff retention is abysmal.
Posted by a parent on 7/21/2021We recently moved to the area. We were concerned about our Daughter entering a new school. In less than a week, our Daughter was integrated into the community and appeared to be a lifer at MSCS. What a perfect fit for our Family!!
Posted by a parent on 5/6/2020Average at best. Needs new leadership before current leadership ruins a potentially good school.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with this school was something I'm very happy I no longer have to deal with. The community seems nice, quite. I don't know how things were inside the classroom because of covid restrictions we were never allowed inside, nor allowed to drop off a lunch or drink for our children if they had been forgotten. My child's IEP was not taken seriously and I was given false information about how often I was allowed to receive an IEP meeting. I felt as though I was constantly brushed off. The drop off and pick up situation is horrendous. My child was just left unattended numerous times to do things that the schools explanation to was just "Oh Well". In the county you don't have a choice, your child goes to the school they are zoned for and that's it. Unless you have money and can pay to send your child to private school.Other Review11mo ago - Oakwood Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two children my daughter went from K-5th grade and I had a pleasant experience with her educators, counselors, administrators throughout her time there. Her little brother went to Kindergarten and his experience was exceptional the little boy who walked in there terrified a huge disadvantage due to covid with pre school or prior education. He was switched with no issue because I felt the other reaches personality would be a better fit and it was. She was patient kind honest and helpful. My son has so much more confidence this year. They put thr resources he needed into place and I am very happy with his experience as well as mine thus far.Parent Review1y ago - Woodside Elementary School
