Mrs. Delacruz is trying to implement new programs to get kids more involved in the school and their work. This seems to be a good change; we'll see. This year they adapted an A/B schedule which lengthens class time but seems to have lessened homework which, for my second child going thru this school,

People might say my school is at the bottom of the charts but its not really the teachers fault, its the students. i see it everyday in the classrooms. Many teachers offer help but the kids want to go hame and be with their friends or [feel]embarrased. We might have the most arreset or most fights, but

First and foremost, Benjamin Stoddert is one of the worst schools in Charles County. The programs that school has for gifted children is not enough. And the teachers did nothing about it except watch and wait. Speaking of teachers, they don't care. If a student was failing and/or having trouble with

Now, I'm no expert, but if I was a teacher and one of my students was having trouble with a certain subject, I would offer to help him/her. Overall, Benjamin Stoddert is a terrible school. Again, thats why I transfered to Milton Somers. Seriously, please consider another school before you put your child in there. Thank you. StevenS. Read less

I consider this a school in crisis. My daughter attended Benjamin Stoddert and was in the honors program. It wasn't challenging and had students in there who weren't qualified to be in it. Only a few teachers seem to care and follow up if a student was having difficulty in a subject. Many of the

The administration is spending most of their time trying to control the troublemakers (with little success). The school needs to regain control, add talented and dedicated teachers, as well as many new books and supplies. Mrs. Lawson, the principal, is trying to pull it together. She has done a lot geting the physical building back in shape. Her vice-principal and administrative assistant are not qualified to do their jobs. She needs more qualified support staff. Read less
