I regularly volunteer and have 3 children at the school. The office staff and all teachers do a great job!!! I see the difference in my children vs. The children of freinds of other local elemetary schools. They are amazed at the reading levels of all my children at the 1st grade level.

As a very involved parent at Folger I can say all students are getting a very good education. The school facility is old but has been funded for a major revitalization project in 2010. A new school will provide many more opportunities for afterschool programs and advanced programming. teachers and administration

My grandson attends this school. His teacher was very harsh and arrogant towards him. She would belittle him in front of other students and even teachers. He had transferred from another school where he was a honor roll student. My family is not happy about this school. It is not a blue ribbon school.
... Read more There are no special programs for students. Parents aren't allowed to visit unannounced. When asked about volunteering, we are told that all spaces are filled and they didn't need our help. As a 'retired teacher' this school is not what it is made out to be in our community. Thank you. We had 2 children in Folger for the 06/07 school year. After coming from award winning schools in another state, we were sadly disappointed in the quality of the programs. There were no after school programs offered. Many of the teachers are harsh. Parent involvement was encouraged in the form of

Read more PTA participation only - otherwise the school was virtually locked down from a parental perspective, we were only allowed in the classroom a few days a year - on those days that all parents were able to visit. Basically, the classrooms were the most inaccessible to parents we have ever experienced. The front office staff is extremely unhelpful. One bright spot is the school counselor. Read less

My son has gone to Folger since he was 5 years old. Folger is a great school. It is a 2004-2005 Maryland Blue Ribbon School. There are many after school programs offered, spainish and science just to name two. The teachers are highly skilled and work hard to bring out the best in each child. The principal

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
