Also, I witnessed a substantial improvement in my son's grades and willingness to participate in afterschool activites offered. She is always there whenever you need her, she is always participating in any school's activity and she is concerned about every single aspect of the school. im in the 8th grade and i love going to tilden. the new principal mrs. baker is wonderful! she is kind, sweet, considerate and patient. The classes are very good, and the math, history and language teachers are wonderful

This school is an exellent school. There is a wide range of math classes from ones for the gifted to children needing a little help to stay on course. English and reading classes have two levels per grade so smart children can be separated from the others. There are so many programs that my I can't
... Read more decide what to participate in! Activity buses take children home on Tuesdays-Thursdays after the programs. There are four levels of band and two levels of orcestra. Parents can be very active and involved if they want to but they don't have to. The principle is not very involved but the vice principles are. Overall this is a great school! Read less

This school is by far one of the best school in the Montgomery County School system-and, that's saying a lot! You really cannot go wrong in any of the County's schools. ... Read more went through the school system and two of them are grown (we still have a child in his last year at Tilden). The other two--well one went to Stanford and had a Masters in Engineering and the other went to Ohio State and is in a grad program. Not too bad. My son is entering high school with honors in math and english. The school is diverse, but I think this is a good thing. The student get to interact with people from all over the world, while learning. Read less

Reading grades deterioration over the last 3 years, may have to do with the high amount of recent immigrants joining the school, but judging from my son's comments about 2 of the 6th grade school Reading teachers and the influence on his motivation to study related subjects, I am unfortunately convinced

Advanced Placement
