Rising Sun Middle School has the most Awesome Administrators, Teachers and All Staff around. They love their children and help each and every student get the best education. They have a way of working with every parent and child to get the most out of each child instead of teaching each child in the ...  Read more

I disagree with the first review for my school. I am a student at RSMS and believe it is a VERY FUN place. My social studies teacher Mr. Bower always gets the class involved in what we're doing by watching videos, reading books, and always having a good sence of humor. Ms. Parkhurst, my reading teacher, ...  Read more

I believe the problem at this school starts at the top. The teachers and administration at this school are NOT receptive to parents, do not take the time to get to know the kids they teach and are always in the 'defensive' mode. I have 2 children who attend. One is an above average student and one ...  Read more

This school is very agerage. Not up to par with other Harford County Schools. My daughter has been diagnosed with mild learning dissabilites and has trouble with organization. The teachers were quick to 'tag' her as lazy and unmotivated instead of finding creative ways to teach her in her needs. ...  Read more

This school was average. The teachers, however, are good at what they do and they all have a unique method of teaching their students.

I have to agree with both of the other parents. My son is currently a student at RSMS. It is almost imposible to get any type of 'special' help for your child. My child has ADHD. and this school refuses to see him as disable and chalk up his inability to complete his work as laziness. I find this school ...  Read more

3 of my children have gone through this school, and it is an average school. It needs to segregate the kids in groups of how they learn, instead of pushing the curiculum at a specified speed and time. Those who grasp it all are fine, but those who don't get it right away are 'Left Behind' (see the ...  Read more

As long as your child cruises through the middle school years without a problem you are fine. If you have a problem, be prepared to fight. This is perhaps indicative of the entire public school system, not just Rising Sun Middle School. I believe the schools are so mired in testing and test scores that ...  Read more
