The principal is excellent. She has created extra small math groups geared to each child's ability, and has expanded math to 90 minutes every school day. In language arts, students may use Wordly Wise books, which are excellent for teaching vocabulary. My child also loves the art program.

The teachers are super! My daughter just graduated and there is plenty of encouragement and reinforcement for those who want to learn. Of course, as is 'PC,' too much attention is lavished on those who prove year to year to excel in poor socialization. This is in spite of having a seasoned guidance counselor.

Read more The school does foster particpation even after school, with fun carnivals, an annual talent show, and other goodies thought up by a PTA that focuses equally on party planning and the school's agenda. If your child is exceptional in any manner, send him or her to another elementary school. Bullying is not dealt with in the very serious manner that it should, and the less 'popular' kids can get hurt...and not just on the playground. All in all, great staff, poor principal who is robotic at best, and kids who generally want to learn. Score: B. Read less

Excellent leadership and vision, strong results. Teachers are mostly very talented-some need a little more mastery of teaching in diverse environments (learning styles, culture, soc-eco. Unfortunately some parents can be overbearing and turn-off with elitist attitudes-discourages some parent participation.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
