Glenelg is a wonderful school. i have been going their since the beginning, all the way back from Pre-k and still going. I can say for myself that it is a hard school but it is more then worth it. The environment is great, the friends you make are for a lifetime, and your teachers are caring and understanding.

We truly love GCS. My daughter will be entering first grade after a wonderful experience in Kindergarten. GCS has the perfect balance of challenging academic curriculum and nurturing environment. The small class size allows the teacher to recognize students talents as well as identify areas for improvement.

I love this school. When I first arrived here i was scared and shy, but everyone came up to me immediatly and made me feel comfortable in my new enviroment. ... Read more catered lunch is okay, but I really enjoy the pizza Fridays. We learn the importance of learership and other qualities in order to succeed. The classes are a lot different from public school, but it's exceedingly easy to adjust. Although the curriculum can be challenging at times there are always friends that will help you through it. I have 2 children at GCS and have sent them from Primary school though the Upper School. Each division is truely exceptional. THe GCS middle school is amazing. The middle schools are the most difficult, the kids are changing, theur attention is being diverted, socialization becomes increasingly important

The children thrive with great teachers, great direction and a unique combination of treating the kids as both kids and teenagers. What a wonderful transition my children made. ... Read more each student has a faculty advisor (different advisors each year in middle school, the same one all four years in high school) who is your ally in every issue that you may have. Second, the classes. In the upper school, you can choose to take extra elective classes along with all of the standard classes. Through some of my favorite classes/teachers, I have become part of activities that had never occured to me to try. I highly reccomend GCS for any student who wants a close atmosphere combined with a rigourous academic program. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
