My oldest son Jacob graduated this year and I could not possibly be more pleased. HCS has been a special memory he will keep forever. My second son has dyslexia and is in a special program for children such as himself. His teachers go above and beyond to help him. My daughter my oldest daughter wll begin
... Read more third grade this year and she is Amazing. They let her move forward and challenge her as she is very intelligent. I also have a daughter in pre-k at HCS. Both of my girls were singing in German and Spanish over the weekend. They are able to sign many things as well. My third grader plays the piano, the recorder and sings. She can't wait to be old enough to add the flute and hand bells to her music studies. Children fourish in this special place. Mr. Wilson is a God send. Read less

Where else can you go in MD to get a well-rounded, Christian ed for your special needs child for under $6000/year? They have individualized my child's ed to meet her needs, without sacrificing quality. She has small class sizes (5 to 1) where needed and is included in mainstream classes whenever appropriate. If your kid has learning disorder, this school 'gets it'.Excellent fine arts and sports programs.Great Bible-based curriculum. Read less

HCS is an amazing school with amazing people. I am so thankful that we are able to send our child there and cannot wait for our younger child to attend starting 9/2009. There are many opportunities there contrary to what some of the reviews say. Readers, keep in mind, this is a Christian school.

HCS does prepare you for the real world! They teach you how to deal with everyday situations in this real and scary world with truths from God's Word and how to remain what He wants you to be rather than conforming to this world around us. i used to be a student there, but i left after freshan year. The school is ridiculous, basically if you're a young man this is not the school for you. The teachers prefer girls, but if you're a teacher or faculty kid, you'll be fine anyou can probably get away with anything. HCS really takes the fun
... Read more out of learnin with their crazy rules. Never once did i have an actual clas discussion there. Also HCs does not ecourage college, unless you want to go to Bob Jones. No college fairs or guidance couselors to help with college searches. No college reps, except for those from Bob Jones. There's a reason why so many kids leave, they keep you much too sheltered and don't prepare childrenfor the real world. Read less

HCS has something absolutely missing from government schools: God consciousness. It is in every classroom and every lesson. The academics are no slouch and can be compared to any school in Maryland. But, first things first: they know who God is.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
