I have had the joy of being apart of the King's Christian Academy for the past 14 years. My daughter is a senior this year and I have a son in 9th and a son in the 3rd grade class. Recently my husband and I took our daughter to a university where she was chosen to attend for the fall 08 school year.

KCA has a rigorous academic program that does not need lots of extra supplemental programs to challenge children. KCA has involved my children in many extra outside organizations like Summit, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, BlackRock Outdoor School and Sandy Cove Bible Conference. The athletic program is growing and there are opportunities for participation from middle school on up. Like any school there are areas for growth. KCA focuses on the heart. Read less

My two sons attended for one year and were happy to not have to return. We had great hopes of a strong christian school and were disappointed by the favoritism shown to families who had been attending with consecutive children over new students, even to the point of disbelieving two or three children

Talking to a brick wall is a good comparison. I did notice that most girls attending enjoyed the school and most boys tended to struggle and get into trouble for 'being boys'. I enrolled in LPCS when I was in 5th grade. My parents saw this school as having a strong Christian foundation and teachers that were understanding, well qualified, and supportive of the students. For the most part they were right. The school is non-denominational although they seem to teach fundamentalism.

The largest reasion my parents removed me from this school is that I would have the same teachers during seventh-twelfth grades. There are no electives in this high school. The 'state of the art' computer lab was just that, 7 years ago. And the only extracurricular activites they offer are sports, no clubs or study groups. I would, however, reccomend this school for first-sixth graders, but not for high school students. Read less
