The staff, leadership, parents club and everything associated with the school is top notch. My son is extremly well prepared for college and he has grown into such a well rounded

Calvert Hall is an awesome school! My son just started his sophomore year. In his first full year he grew up very quickly. Calvert Hall teaches the importance of staying organized, balancing classes, homework, sports and other extracurricular activities. My son was never so involved in school before

We have had two sons graduate from Calvert Hall. I cannot help but feel a little jealous! I wish that I had this quality of education in high school. Both were more than ready for college. One word of advice for prospective poparents - you will be shown two lecture halls and told that, for example,
... Read more in English class, your son will be there two days a week with a hundred other students. Don't be put off by this - it is a benefit. The students are being prepared for college, and my sons said that the lecture format two days a week, along with small sections (15 - 20) the other days was the best way to learn. This is what they are doing in college, and they were accustomed to it when the other students were struggling to adapt. I recommend CHC without reservation. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
