Posted by a community member on 11/16/2019I have two children that have been here for 6 years. I see a major difference between how they learn and how their friends in public school learn, with my kids learning being the better of the two. Montessori is child-centered meaning it is focused on how the individual child learns and when their brain is ready to learn. This makes it more enjoyable and easier for the child.
Posted by a parent on 3/13/2018We started this year and absolutely love it. The teachers and staff are excellent and so passionate about what they do. We are seeing so much growth and progress with our 4 year old in Children’s House and it seems to be happening so naturally. Every week I feel like we can say, this is what we hoped it would be and can reaffirm how glad we are that we made this choice. Thank you Keystone!
Posted by a parent on 2/12/2018We are very happy we chose Keystone Montessori School for our children's education. It gave them a wonderful start to their lives. The Children's House program kept my children active and engaged in their learning, while the teachers were very nurturing. This prepared them well for elementary. My daughter, now older, realizes that she has a deeper understanding of foundations in several subject areas over fellow students that did not have the opportunity to attend a Montessori program. She feels lucky. While the elementary program appropriately raises students expectations it continues to excite their learning. It is amazing how given the freedom to explore and experiment, they figure things out for themselves. They often work collaboratively with the loving guidance of the teachers. When we figure something out ourselves, we tend to remember it more than if we were just told how something works. Investigation yields genuine learning. After lots of reading to educate myself, I see that Keystone is faithful in implementing an authentic Montessori program. Through the engaging curriculum, both the Children's House and the Elementary Program nurtures the students' natural curiosities and love of learning. Once my son realized he loves learning, doorways opened in all directions. I truly believe in giving children a strong foundation for life. The Montessori program offers a well-rounded academic and emotional learning environment. Keystone also offers lots of educational opportunities for parents which benefits the entire family. As my children grow I see how Montessori and Keystone Montessori School fostered their independence and maturity as they make decisions. Keystone's Lower Elementary program has been wonderful and they now have a growing Upper Elementary program so children may benefit in this learning environment through 6th grade.
Posted by a parent on 8/9/2017CH program very good but El not great. Head Administrator lacks ability to guide and supervise EL Teachers. Lower El Teacher - lacks empathy, teaching of academic not guided, academics started late and unclear about standards, assistants do all the work, and behaviors not addressed. No academic documentation given to parents - unclear about teaching main academics, too much extra curriculum. Schooling only good for children whom are very smart, not for average.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs close to a 5 as possible. The school could improve slightly on dealing with bullying in that my child had an issue with another student and when the teacher saw the situation both kids got in trouble. I strongly believe that a child should be able to defend him or herself without fear of reprisals from both the bully and the teacher.Parent Review5y ago - C.W. Morey Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot a parent, but I’m a former student who graduated from this school circa 2012 who is now a university student. Based on my experiences, I’m rating this school a one-star because some of the teachers are too serious regarding the tone they speak in and communicate with students. They’re teaching children, what are they expecting them to be? Have fully developed brains and act mature? I understand that children need to behave, but yelling at them and embarrassing them in front of the class isn’t going to help and will probably make them a bullying target. From what I recall, the teaching curriculum was okay-ish. Although, the teachers weren’t very helpful when it came to class assignments. The teachers also weren’t very friendly like I mentioned before, making it intimidating to ask them for help.Other Review1y ago - Pawtucketville Memorial Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHellenic American Academy has a great potential, but too much school cancellations are made throughout the year. Parents need to be extremely flexible with their schedules. Their cancellations are not based on the school needs but on Lowell Public Schools policy and decisions. Also, the days cancelled are not made up at the end of school year. Too many half-days and many others half-days are made though out the year, that are not included in the school calendar, but “last minute decided”. It’s just unfortunate for a school with such great potential.Parent Review7mo ago
