We couldn't be more pleased with the experience our children are having at DCD. They are intellectually stimulated and the curriculum keeps them curious. They are learning what it means to be part of a team, whether that's through athletics or working with partners in class. They are pushed when they need to be challenged and supported when the challenge is great. They know what it means to be part of a community--and our whole family feels tied to that community. The teachers truly know the students here, and the sense of fun, energy and kindness is palpable the moment you enter campus. At DCD, the kids spend lots of time outside and doing hands-on learning; they have broad access to the arts. This school is committed to community service and public speaking; they champion kindness and curiosity, and they help students find their own way through disputes. I can't say enough good things about this school--it has truly been a gift for our family!

Absolutely love DCD. It has been a home away from home for my three kids, who all started there in PreK. I was hesitant about the whole independent school world in general, as I attended strong public schools growing up and always figured I'd raise my kids in a suburb of Boston with a great public (and free!) system. But we were still living in the city when my oldest was entering Pre-K and weren't quite ready to pick up and move. We decided to give DCD a try and never looked back. Best parenting decision we've made yet.

I love DCD because it is a private school that really focuses on keeping their students grounded in the real world. The kids that graduate understand their privileged station in life and are ready to take on the world!

DCD has been everything we had hoped for our son, and more. We have good public schools, so moving him was a tough decision. But he needed a different learning environment in order to truly show what he can do and grow into his own strengths. Public school only asked him to do what he didn’t do well. DCD has completely invested him, taught him to play to his strengths and has helped him grow into an 8th grader who knows who he is and believes in himself. The teachers are incredibly engaging, helping the kids learn in ways that are creative, relevant and challenging all at the same time. My son has gone from rote learner to critical thinker in his three years at DCD. He is confident and more prepared for high school than he would have ever been if we had kept him in public school. The head of school at DCD is beyond words — an incredible administrator, a thoughtful educator and one of the warmest, most engaging people I’ve ever met. Her spirit, talent and philosophy trickle down through every experience the kids have at DCD. Lucky them! If you want your child to be academically challenged, individually inspired and holistically grown into the very best he/she can be, DCD is your top choice.

DCD is simply amazing! Teachers, administrators and staff are warm and welcoming! I know my child is in excellent hands. We are on year 3 and looking forward to many more memorable years!
