Date: July 2023. We absolutely love Baldwin! My 4 year old reads, and it began with Phonics at school at age 3. They use fun activities like preparing a huge birthday card to encourage writing, reading and drawing. Social emotional development, learning through play, varied fun crafts and activities, fun and informational themes for each week and so many fun events throughout the year to involve families. The principal and staff really care about the students. Safe drop off and safe pick up. My kid loves school and looks forward to it. Teachers also recognize different paces or stages of development and learning and pace the teaching as per the child's stage. Scribbling or pretend writing is also encouraged as a step towards writing. Communication with teachers is easy and transparent. Date: July 2023

My daughter's teacher Ms Joyce is great. I am blessed that my daughter's teacher is an experienced math teacher with 14 years under her belt. A month in and I can see the difference in my child's attitude towards math.

The school is pretty decent but also has its downs. I'm just going to give a quick summary: the men's bathrooms have piss all over the floor, the school does almost nothing to stop fights in middle school. But, the school also teaches well in math and english. Until these things are improved, I do not recommend this school.

Our son has been at the Winship since K-1 and is now in K-2 this year. We are quite impressed with all he has learned in Kindergarten these past few months. He really loves learning at the Winship! He now reads fluently at almost 1st grade level and his math skills are developing very fast as well.We are very impressed by the teachers at the school, the support they provide to our son and the structure around the school.We also love the partnerships that the school has through Playworks, Urban Voice, City Sprouts, the Oak SquareYMCA for the after-school program. One example: Urban Voice organized a concert back in December in a local church on Washington St. It was such an amazing event and our son was really thrilled by this opportunity to perform with his peers and friends. Thanks to the Winship School, we are also able to bond with other parents and we are extremely satisfied to be part of this community. We built very meaningful relationships and are able to lean on one another to discuss how to make the Wisnhip experience the best for our children. We love the Winship and are so happy we decided to register our son to this school!

I love my school! I‘ve been a student for a long time now and have always had enjoyable learning experiences. I have lots of friends at gisb and all my pears are great to work with! The teachers care about each student and teach with enthusiasm and patience. Even in ninth grade they find a way to explain difficult topics with games and fun worksheets. The preparation for exams is exquisite and extremely helpful. Since we are a small school everyone knows everyone. There are lots of friendships in various classes. The overnight class trips are always great and bring the class even closer. Since my school teaches both English and German on a fluent speaking level, I have the option to study in the US and in Germany. We have a great college counselor that also helps you apply at schools in other countries. My siblings both have similar experiences. Overall I am so glad I’m at this school and I don’t plan leaving it.

It’s a preschool and school from two years old to 6th grade that is really top notch in education and caring for their students. There is also a beautiful synagogue, fun summer and winter camps as well as several holiday program throughout the year. Nutritious and homemade food is unbelievable. A great place for all!
