Read what parents are saying about St Agnes SchoolWe sent our daughter to the full day pre-K program and were very happy with it. The quality of the instruction was good and we felt that our daughter progressed a lot over the course of the year. Its a nurturing, inclusive, and caring environment. Our only complaint is the drop-off situation as the road behind the school can get very chaotic in the morning at drop-off time, especially during winter.
Posted by a parent on 6/14/2015Unfortunately we had only major problems with Saint Agnes School in Arlington. We are pulling out our children from this school just so she is safe!
Posted by a parent on 3/24/2015This school has been a God-send for my family! My children switched the St Agnes from the public school, and the change in my children has been amazing. The academics are far superior to the public school, and they have made wonderful friends and, for the first time, LOVE school! Thank you does not seem enough.
Posted by a parent on 9/30/2014My daughter had a horrible experience at St. Agnes. The staff did not respond to the threat that was made on her life. She was the victim of a horrible case of bullying and the response from the school was to suspend my daughter for seeking help at the guidance counselor. I removed my daughter from the school and it took 2 full days before the principal contacted me. The bully in this case was not punished in the least bit. The victim in this case ( my daughter ) was forced to leave school and go to a new school in March. Right in the middle of the year! Parents, do your research about this school. Arlington Patch and the Arlington Police Logs from March 2011. Giving this school 1 star is a stretch for me.
Posted by a parent on 12/1/2013My daughter is in kindergarten at St. Agnes and we couldn't be happier. From the warm welcome to new familiies at the end of year ice cream social to the numerous events throughout the year, the school has a real sense of community. Yes, there are shiny, new public schools in the area, but don't let the older physical plant of St. Agnesput you off- this is an excellent learning environment. My daughter's teacher is enthusiastic about teaching and has a terrific rapport with the students. From science Fridays to a class pet, she is always finding new ways to engage the children. The small class sizes allow the teachers to give children more individualized attention. Spanish, music, computer, gym and library are part of the curriculum and complement the literacy, writing and math centers. I love that the uniform eliminates fighting over what to wear in the morning! The convenience of the Fidelity House after school program on the same campus is a boon to working parents. Children from public schools attend Fidelity house too, so your child may spend time with some neighborhood friends as well. I recommend this school wholeheartedly and encourage you to consider it.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. Raphaels has overall been a great experience for our child who is in Junior High. There are a lot of great after school programs (sports and academics) that students can take advantage of. They also have four dances (more like parties) a year and other fun social events, and there are educational Washington DC and NYC trips available for students to take part in. In the Junior High academic program, there is one teacher for grades 6,7,8 per subject. This can be a great thing if the teacher is an excellent teacher, which matches my perception for the bulk of the Junior High teachers. The kids seem to have a hard time learning from the math teacher but the school seems to be working on ways to make this better. If you are considering sending your child to this school, find a parent to talk to about their child’s experience with the math teacher. A good number of parents end up getting outside tutoring for math, which can add up quickly in terms of a family’s education budget. Overall, the teachers and staff are caring and devoted to the mission of the school.Parent Review4mo ago - International School Of Boston

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageISB is a great school. The academics are top. We have a son in another prestigious Boston private school and the teaching and learning is far inferior to what our children at ISB receive. The students are taught to be global citizens, come home excited about learning and are very supported in the bilingual education. Our children joined not knowing a word of French and were immediately supported and felt at home. After just one year of French as a second language support, they were mainstreamed back into the classroom. The children are kind, creative and warm. My kids befriend kids grades up and down, boys and girls. It's very open and inclusive. The academics are great, the community and extracurricular activities are fun and enriching and our kids could not be happier.Parent Review4mo ago - Lesley Ellis School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLesley Ellis is a great school for curious, bright children. The teachers are engaged and thoughtful. The overall curriculum is challenging in a good way, designed to capture kids' imagination and interest. Lesley Ellis is particularly strong in the preschool and elementary programs, where social and emotional learning are just as important as academics. Throughout Lesley Ellis there is an active culture of tolerance and mutual respect. This is true at all levels - faculty, staff, and students. Fighting bias, or "anti-bias," has been a core element of Lesley Ellis' philosophy and curriculum for a long time, starting well before it became the phrase du jour. This doesn't mean the school is preachy, or that academics are neglected. Instead, kindness, self-understanding and understanding others are ideals infused throughout a typical school day - along with a solid academic foundation that prepares kids for life beyond its walls.Parent Review1y ago - International School of Boston
