Our daughter has been attending FAY since 1st grade, and now entering he 8th grade. We cannot understand why any parent could possibly be disappointed and so bitter! We only wish that FAY offered up to the 12th grade. We are sad to think we have to move on.

Although when I was going to Fay I may have complained about having to do homework or be in dresscode this year i realized how much Fay has helped me and how much I miss being at Fay. After my Fay experience I feel that I am more prepared in some areas than some of my other class mates, to be able to

We are very displeased with the quality academics at Fay. The reality of what Fay is as a school does not live up to its self-promotion (or parental expectations). We cannot recommend it.

Fay School is simply fantastic. Note that at least three of the negative reviews written here are offered by the same parent. While its unfortunate that this particular parent is bitter - I have yet to meet a student or family that is not thrilled with the Fay School. Fay School does conduct annual
... Read more fundraising - however this is the case with all independent schools. Our oldest daughter attended a different independent school and the frequency of requests for donation were exactly the same. Fundraising is a reality in independent schools in that most of them do not charge tuition high enough to offset the cost of education. Therefore, any parent expecting to pay only the tuition is actually getting an indirect form of financial aid. All fundraising is voluntary and I have never felt uncomfortable giving only the amount we could afford. Read less

We have two children at Fay and absolutely love it. Our son is academically gifted and takes many of the honors courses. Our daughter works harder on her academics and receives the support and direction she needs to excel. We have had a couple of issues we were not satisfied with related to advisors

The school does focus on fundraising as any private institution must but I feel much more pressure from my college alma mater than I do from Fay. Our son is in the process of picking a private secondary school and has been accepted to many top schools. This is a sign to me that he is getting a solid education. Read less

Our experience at Fay has been wonderful. We transferred to Fay into the upper school from a public school, and the transition could not have been better. Our child was supported and attended to by an excellent advisor and academic team. The difference in our child's self confidence, growth and maturity
... Read more has amazed us and we feel the Fay school environment has contributed immensely to this. Our child is a very bright visual learner and over all the staff has welcomed and embraced this, as opposed to forcing our child to conform to 'the box.' We feel that Fay expectations for academic performance, personal responsibility and accountability are high, and that the students strive to reach these expectations in a positive environment. The international student experience at Fay is life changing and offers 'worlds' of global awareness and friendship, while teaching and living 'in community' with shared values. We Love Fay! Fay School is popular, but doesn't live up to expectations. The school clearly has a 'type' of student. If your child doesn't fit this mold they will not fit in. There are some good teachers and the facility is impressive, but there is a lot of teacher/staff turnover. Overall there are other schools

If your child is perfect, then by all means send him/her to Fay. However, if he/she has even the slightest learning needs, your money will be better spent elsewhere. This is a one-size-fits-all place. Not only was it a waste of time, our daughter left there farther behind than she was when she started.
... Read more The advisory system is a joke! Our child's advisor had little knowledge of her as a learner and did not function as her advocate. In the end, we think the staff and administration were singularly clueless. Everything in this school is about rules and punishments. Kids must conform rather than think as individuals. When you choose a private school like this, you give up your rights as an individual and as parents. They were totally inflexible. If we asked simple questions, they got defensive. They made many promises to us that went unfulfilled. We were extremely disappointed! Read less

When our child began his education at Fay, he was significantly ahead of his peers. We discussed our situation and concerns with the Head of School, and were assured his needs would be met. At Fay, every child is part of the larger entity, therefore, no one child can get the attention and resources, or be allowed to soar far above the others. Fay does maintain a very comfortable and nurturing environment for the middle-of-the-road student. However, any parent or child looking for a rigorous academic education, would do better looking at other schools more focused on academic achievement. Read less
