We had a foster child at Saltonstall, and the faculty and staff were so supportive of him and us as a family. The school uses an alternative approach to learning that is very effective, and the environment of the school is friendly, kind, and pleasant.

My children have been at Salts for 9 years. The quality of the teachers is incredible. They are dedicated, hard working and always work on their own time to help the kids. The community is supportive and the kids learn how to get along as well as academics. All in all, I wish that there were more

I am the parent of a kindergartner new to Saltonstall. In the 5 months we have been involved with this school, we couldn't be more pleased. Classes are integrated so that kids who are succeeding are paired with older children to improve their skills, and children who are struggling get extra support.
... Read more The combined grades begin in 1-2, but the kindergartners are exposed to a lot of activities with the older children. There is ART EVERYWHERE and creative expression is a big deal in this school. We initially chose this school because it had the highest overall rating on Greatschools, and now we know why. Although some Government test scores are off it is due to diversity. This is one of the best Schools there are Public or Private. They truly strive to find ways for every child to learn and grow. The multiple intelligences approach to education makes every child realize they can be successful educationally, which is such an important message to communicate to new students! We have been very pleased with the preparation afforded for standardized tests, yet feel they haven't had to sacrifice the unique flavor of the school's educational goals, to be successful at this. * In 2007-2008 Massachusetts used the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) to test students in grades 3 though 8 and 10 in English language arts and math, and in grades 5 and 8 in science. Advanced Placement
