10 Parent Reviews for Oliver Ames High School

Oliver Ames is a really good school. The teacher are really good, the guidance office is absolutely fantastic as well. The big problems are that there is massive amounts of drug use both in and around school and the school turns a blind eye to it, as do the police. And while the school is perfect for ...  Read more

The complaint about drugs by one poster must be a family issue because my kids love this school, its faculty, and the principal. If you want to do drugs you can find them anywhere but the school has zero tolerance for drug use or possession with an automatic 10 day suspension and kids are expelled who ...  Read more

Yes, the school is known for its great reputation academically. Guidance is excellent. If you are an involved parent, teachers ...some teachers ... Are willing to work with you if your child is failing. Other than wealthy, educated kids, this school is well known for its drug problem throughout the community. ...  Read more

I am a parent of a Special Education student. I do have to say that although the school spends a great deal of money on asthetics and athletics, it is lacking in administrative accountability around education. I am pleased to see that principal recieved five stars because he is simply the best. He loves kids and supports them in all their activities. He runs a fantastic school and leads with a passion for excellence. I hope he stays in Easton so all my kids can experience the shcool he has established.

As a student here, I find that academically there are definately flaws, but I feel well prepared to go on to college and that most of the teachers are great. The math department is a little weak. Socially, it's a lot of wealthy white kids, and they're all really competitive.

As a former student of OA, I have found that I was well prepared for college and life in general after graduating. It is a great school.

My son is a special needs student. He has been at Oliver Ames For three years in the special needs program . After his first year, his overall improvement in his subjects and self confidence had improved 100%. I had planned to move to another town but after speaking to teachers in other towns about their ...  Read more
