Great school. Good music and art programs. Plenty of afterschool sports, band and other programs. My children graduated from Melrose High School they enjoyed their high school years. Student graduates go on to college and are accepted by ivy leaque schools

Read more challenging, her SAT scores reflected that she had a great math and English background, and as a freshman at one of the nation's top ranked univerisities she is competing admirably with those who attended private schools or elite public schools. (Dean's List) We found teachers and staff at MHS to be extremely dedicated to the students and truly supportive and challenging. This is a fine school and i dont know what some of those other people were talking about. It has one of the best attendance records in the area and has great teachers. the after school activities are plentiful and the sports teams are some of the best in the league. I've been attending this school for two and a half years and I agree with most of those who consider it a joke. A lot of classes are empty because students choose to skip and go out for a smoke or just go elsewhere for the rest of the day. There is often a shortage of help available so classes are herded

This school is a joke. The principal and his administration are non-responsive and ineffective. While there a few excellent teachers, most seem to be burned out and ambivalent. The Dean of Students is a disgrace, completely unresponsive to parents. Cutting classes seems to be the norm at this school

The principal, when not asleep at his desk, is completely oblivious to the needs of the students and forget getting any response from him if you are concerned parent, chances are whatever conversation you may have had with him he will have completely forgotten within the hour. * In 2007-2008 Massachusetts used the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) to test students in grades 3 though 8 and 10 in English language arts and math, and in grades 5 and 8 in science. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
