I believe that Silver Lake has done an unsatisfactory job with teaching my children. There is little electives and teachers do not seem to have an overall interest in the children. I made the decision to move from Boston to Kingston after learning about the newly built school, hoping it would give my

... Read more the teachers are given enough structural guidelines to their lesson plans and grading policies. It is very difficult to understand what direction the teachers are going. Most teachers skip over lessons and are lacking vital organizational planning skills. In my college prep-honors classes I am very pleased on the amount of effort 4 of my 7 teachers are putting into their jobs, while 3 of my teachers fail to facilitate class issues, fail fully explain case studies and lessons, and fail to return graded assignments in a timely manner. Our administrators are doing an exceptional job facilitating behavioral issues among students without disturbing the classes. Overall, Silver Lake is a quality high school but the science and mathematics departments are un-exceptional. Read less
