Parents need to supplement their childs education in order to transition from middle to high school and not have them behind. There arent huge negatives about the school but equally I have nothing overly positive to say about the school. ... Read more know they will be held accountable and not take advantage of Federal funds. I have been here many years and know the before and after. It did take those parents contacting the Department of Defense in Washington to put a fire under the Lincoln Administrations feet quickly. In the past military families just accepted the system until a group of 2007 parents said, 'Lets change it now for the future kids of Hanscom'. Thank you 2007 Parents. This is a great school with a very caring, professional and well educated staff. Test scores are what they are because of the high turnover of students, but if you look at the scores of students who have been at the school for more than a year they are fantastic. The science program has issues but

This school needs new administration and hold teachers accountable. High percent of kids are not prepared for Bedford High or a state move to another school. Look at the state scores (very low), and the teaching stategies are a combination of being outdated and inexperience. Lack of Science and Math

My children are at the end of their firs year, and I am not happy with this school. It is very unorganized, lunchtime volumne/behavior is not controlled, kids are allowed to keep interupting during class time only to get a 'pink slip' for bad behavior. I agree with others, the basic average student

Administrators just want the Government Pension, teachers have protected jobs due to government contract and this unproffesional behavior shows in the school district. Next time I would go private or rent in Bedford or Lexington, MA. Read less

I just pulled my three children [from] this school. It is a small school with just military children attending, but most have discipline problems and the staff is overwhelmed. It is a shame to see the studies lowered to the lower performing student. The goods students are being pacified and not challenaged.

If you have a child that has excelled prior to comming to Hanscom you will need to supplement their education in addition to attending Hanscom. They do not challenage children. Postive: it is a safe environment, Negative: you will need to supplement your childs grade level to have them prepared.

Considering our children have a worldside education and their 'real world' military lifestyles you would think they would be treated with more respect. * In 2007-2008 Massachusetts used the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) to test students in grades 3 though 8 and 10 in English language arts and math, and in grades 5 and 8 in science. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
