Read what parents are saying about Vandebilt Catholic High SchoolThis school is definitely a waste of money. If you are looking for an overpriced babysitter, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a quality education for your child, do not waste your money here. If you are looking for vulgar bleeped out music on football Fridays during car drop off, this is the place for you. The principal thinks it is okay because the words are bleeped out. That’s not a very Catholic-like response. While there are limited good teachers, there is a huge turnover of teachers that are there just to hold a place in the classroom. When you try to contact administration about it, you are ignored. Even following the chain of command, the principal won’t respond. She makes others do her job for her. She preaches “Communication is key.”, but she does not communicate. If you happen to make it to the President with your concerns, he bully’s you saying that your complaints are out of line. I’m not sure how concerns regarding teachers not teaching are out of line. The Gueldner-Hamilton duo is destroying this school. Now, without any notification during admissions, they are requiring all students to sell raffle tickets or lose tuition assistance and reduced lunch. The reason people need this is because they can’t afford the over-priced, sun-par teacher school. So now you threaten them. I do not recommend this school.
Posted by a parent on 2/17/2023If your son or daugther wants to be an aspring engineering or work in science or math industry, this school does not prepare for your child in engineering or science courses in college. There are no teachers that have used the school laboratory to demonstrate experiments in chemistry of physics classes. While going through my undergraduate for aerospace engineering, I have struggled with the first and second year science and math courses.
Posted by a community member on 11/1/2019My 2 sons have blossomed there under the school leadership. They have been able to find a friend group to fit in with, are intellectually challenged, and are held accountable for their actions. The school has fostered character formation, accountability, and individuality. I think they have been well formed for success in the future.
Posted by a parent on 8/30/2019Overpriced for a mediocre education, subpar administration, and a major bullying problem.
Posted by a parent on 6/23/2018This school is okay, but the staff seems too focused on their paycheck then actually the students' needs or wants. Many of the teachers do not care about the students, and if you approach them for help, you will only be shot down. I had one teacher who was more focused on playing games on the iPad given to her by the school, than actually teaching us. I like some of the clubs. All are run by teachers and students, and not by the administration, so none are a complete train wreck. Students are friendly in general, but there are a few bad seeds. And these bad seeds usually get away with anything due to their parent's money or social status. Many of the teachers allow them to get away with trouble because they are athletes or a part of their club. My school could improve by actually evaluating teachers more than once a year, and maybe actually listening to students' complaints. A group of friends and I have gone several times to complain but absolutely nothing happens. Another improvement could be not showing favoritism to the athletes, and instead treat everyone with the same respect, like the Bible says.

They inspired my daughters, and other students to achieve more and gave them confidence in themselves through recognition and reward. Those teachers showed great interests and devotion.Other Review7y ago - East Houma Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very unfair, our children do not get to speak there side of the story. And then our children come home and get fusted by us just because the teacher didn't wanna hear them out! This is not right! Please do something about that. Because lots of the students get bullied and the teacher act like they can't do anything but they obviously know they can!Parent Review1y ago - Mulberry Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCan’t speak highly enough of this school! My son is an inclusion student (sped) and the sped department here has done WONDERS for him! We went from D’s and F’s to A’s, B’s and C’s! Moving here was best decision! The teachers and staff truly love these kids and the administration has a no nonsense policy for bullying and misbehavior which is great for teaching our kids how to become productive members of society. They have lots of clubs to join and the school places great every year in Beta for state and regional competitions! If you want great teachers, good education and a school where bullying and bad behavior are not tolerated this is your school! You won’t find better admin in this parish!Parent Review1mo ago - Southdown Elementary School
