calvary baptist is going downhill. this is going to be my 8th grade year and im happy im leaving, they may prepare you academically for high school but not emotionally or spiritually. we do have chapel every wednesday. and this year we started out with middle school electives, i thought it was great!

Read more then they took the electives away and made us take both of the subjects we were choosing between then they took middle school PE away because we were 'bad' wich pe is class .they have some realy good teachers. the students do use profanity, and they do talk sexually, but those are the guys haha. i mean u cant get away from middle school guys, though they shouldnt be saying those things. I started 4 years ago at CBS and i am planning on staying.i suggest you enroll your kid, but talk to them about who they are. Read less

I am happy with the quality and care of CBS! This will be my daughter's second year attending this school. She loves her teacher and enjoys learning at CBS. I like the small (family-like) atmosphere. They also offer P.E. and art...which my child looks forward to every week. I have a second child in Pre-K

I was very pleased with Calvary Baptist School. My daughter was in the pre-K class and she did very well. The teachers really take their time with the children and I would recomend the school to anyone.

I had a child in PreK - 3 this school year. I cannot say enough good things about this school. If you want your child to learn as well as be exposed daily to a wholesome Christian environment, this is definately the place for your child. My daughter at age three knows her alphabet and the sounds that
... Read more each letter makes. She can also count to 20 on her own and to 100 with help. She frequently came home with art projects that had a bible verse on it. She learned to interact well with the other children and made several friends. They were taken on monthly field trips to have extra fun and attended weekly Chapel Services where she worshiped and learned about Christian values. CBS has come a long way. The school has worked hard to overcome a bad reputation in recent years. I am very greatful for my daughter's teacher this year. Very disorganized and unproffesional in how they handle things. Very little communication between the home and the school. Calvary Baptist may brag about their class sizes, but their acutal room size is very small which creates a crowded situtation.

The school is ok on the quality of their academic programs. The biggest problem with Calvary is that they allow problem children from other schools enroll in their school. That creates an enormous amount of problems which the school chooses to ignore. As a parent I have heard middle school children use

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
