I have been attending Haynes Academy since 6th grade, and this will be my fourth year at this school. Unlike most students, I feel as if Haynes Academy is an amazing school. The teachers I have had in the past have always been helpful. I would not say that all of the classes are hard, because I have

However, I have noticed that most students tend to consider classes 'impossible to pass' because they do not do any of their work, and feel as if social activities are more important than their school work. Students complain about tucking in shirts, which just makes us look better as a school. Overall, Haynes is an amazing school; you're lucky if you attend it. Read less

I, too, go to Haynes and like the other reviewers I don't think Haynes is that great. While I have only been at this school for two years, I find that Haynes has a habit of not explaining things well. Whether it is rules & regulations, test material, or anything. The facuty expects us students to be

Last year a friend of mine won an award and nobody at the school ever found out until teh office overheard her talkign about it. Another example would be when one of my teachers didn't even know students had IDs! And another thing: yeah it's hard getting into Haynes, but you know what the easy part is? Staying in. Read less

Hello. I am a student at Haynes Academy and I do not like this school. My list can go on and on but i will only list a few. 1.) The only thing important to the teacher at the school are grades. Nothing else matter. They expect ever student to be able to read over the work once and understand it right

Because the school being so small, there are not enough teachers to teach the electives. There we only a few selectable electives for the high school students to take this year for the 10th graders. Journalism, Law studies, Speech, and talented art and theater (must be in talented!) No student wants to take either law Read less

Haynes is not all that it s cracked up to be. It has a very easy curriculum, and most genuinely smart kids (about 5% of the student body) can sleep in class, not study for tests, and put off work until the last minute and still maintain straight A's. It is very easy to manipulate the teachers' system.
... Read more Teachers give massive grade curves, innumerable bonus points, slack on lessons to talk to students about trivial matters (dances, pep-rallies, etc...), and give deadline extensions for no apparent reason. Teachers and administrators hassle students on trivial rules such as ID tags. It s not that Haynes isn t good; it s just that we are wasting effort on pointless things. If I were the principal I would strengthen the curriculum, get better teachers and let go of bad ones, and I would give yearly examinations in order to weed out any bad students. We have some good aspects, but we have a lot of work to do before we become a real magnet school. -Verum Dico Read less

I am a student and i have been attending the school for 3 years now. Honestly being a student I do not think the school is that great. And yes the school may be 'diverse' but many students make rude comments about other races and that displeases me.Most of the staff are just rude at times. My daughter is an 9th grader and she adores this school. Unlike previous entries, her homework is not time-consuming. She does about an hour each night.
