I have had one child graduate, one still in school, both starting in kindergarten. I learned several years ago that the administration is there for the job & only the job. Don't expect results from the amdinistration nor the school board for that matter when you have a concern.

As a grad. of grand lake high school. some changes have been done. there are building a new school right next to the old one. sports are a very big part of the community. and they have added more electives to classes. i love this community and they are working on making it better.

As a parent of two GrandLake students, and a former employee of this school I can say that overall GrandLake is a great school for the average student who wants a basic education. Highschool classes are limited to the very basics. There is no music program offered and very few elective classes offered,
... Read more even the required classes are limited , it is hard to get required classes without scheduling problems. Art is offered only to a select few elementary students. The track program would be great if they had a real track. The track coach is great & makes the best with what he has to work with. There's a problem with overcrowding and parts of the school aren't in the greatest of repair.Rodents and roaches are a problem I have seen myself. Most of the teachers are excellent but as with any school you will have a few who aren't. Read less

This school has always been a blessing to us. Most of the teachers are caring individuals and go above and beyond what is expected of them. Any problems referred to the adminstration have been taken care of promptly. The school's appearance is not the best, but the school is old, and the school board
... Read more has to rely on taxes provided in order to update and renovate the school. The outer appearance in no way reflects the performance by the staff inside. The scores of both the students and faculty are well above many others in the state. I am pleased with the school and recommend it to anyone. It takes parents' cooperation to also make a great school and extracurricular activities, not just the teachers. Read less

Very poor administrative leadership. You can not count on guidance, follow-up, honosty or respect. I feel there is a lack of role models for children to look up to. Without giving the student some form of respect you can not expect to receive or achieve a level of leadership. The students need something
... Read more to be proud of. Each student needs to know their accomplishments no matter how great or small the whole administration is proud of them. What may seem to be a small step on an adult level is sometimes a large step to a child and this is not recognized by the majority of authority in this school. Shame on you! Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
