I transferred to Vandebilt for my junior and senior years, and they were far and away the best years of my K-12 education. The rate of students who continue to college approaches 100%, the extracurriculars are wonderful (especially the unbelievable marching band). I witnessed more school spirit and
... Read more volunteerism here than any other school I know of. Despite the number of wealthy students, everyone is very open to one another and gives each other a fair shot. Students are academically challenged and supported, socially well-developed and well-rounded during their tenure at Vendebilt. The teachers and administrators know every student's name and are very caring and supportive. I could rhapsodize forever, but I'll stop at saying that I'll never forget my years at VandyLand. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
