All 3 of my children attended Apollo Elem and for the most part I was happy. I found the open floor plan distracting and my children complained constantly that they could not hear thier own teacher half the time over other surrounding teachers. I agree the counselor truly needs to be replaced. We have sinced moved out of state but feel my children have received a relatively good education from attending Apollo . Read less

My children have been students at Apollo Elementary from 1st grade-5th grade! My husband and I chose Apollo because of the excellent structure and fabulous teachers. My oldest child has austism and the teachers were phenonmenal with her. We would not allow her to be pulled for Sped and the teachers
... Read more and principal were fabulous. We were apprehensive about the open classroom setting, but it turned out to be an asset. At first, it was an adjustment but in the end both of my children adjusted to it quite well. My only negative was with the school counselor. If you want anything done for Special Education or AIM evaluation, go next door to the evaluation center or stay on top of her! With a new counselor, this would be the perfect school. Read less

Both my children have attended Apollo Elementary since kindergarten. They had a wonderful experience with the school, adminstators, and teachers. It was a wonderful learning experience. They were very prepared for Jr. High. Thank you Apollo!!!

If you have an exceptionally gifted child good luck with that also. I was told in jan. he would be tested it is now sept. and still my son has not been tested for the aim program. As a new family coming to Bossier City we were careful to find a home in a school district with a high rating. Apollo has suplied my two children with an adequate education. As a new parent to the school I was very concerned when I realized that all parents who join the PTL are not welcomed at the PTL
... Read more meetings. I came from a school where all parents were considered valuable and their input was invited on all levles. The parental involvement is lacking save for those few on the PTL board and a handful of room mothers. Apollo is in a unique situation of incoming students from differnt cities and states and so has a wealth of potential suggestions from fundraisers that may have been successful in other places to gifted and talented parents who may love to help but lack the opportunity to get involved. My daughter had an excellent kindergarten experience at Apollo. She was very prepared for first grade. Her teachers promoted independence and responsibility in a loving and respectful manner. Manner activities were planned that made anticipate going to school everyday. We had a great experience!

Apollo is an excellent school as far as activities and the overall learning experience. I do see the lack of attention to special needs children. There is no foundation for accomodating a child with ADD/ADHD. I did observe a teacher ridiculing a student in front of other children for not bringing

Apollo is an excellent school with a loving and caring atmosphere. It has the winning combination of a great staff, great kids, great parents and an environment conducive to learning. Advanced Placement
