I am a student of Southeast Middle School and I am so glad this is my first and last year here. My oldest brother and sister both attended Southeast and was very disappointed when I transferrred from Woodlawn Middle to Southeast Middle. The teachers there don't really care about any of the students unless ...  Read more

Coming from another parish: Southeast Middle is one of the better public schools compared to others in the parish.I am a single parent and have two children in Southeast -one which is special needs. I love the teachers there- Mr Peters, Mrs Carriere. Parents need to be more involved with their child's ...  Read more

Being new to the East Baton Rouge School system, I was at first optimistic when I enrolled my child into Southeast. Unfortunately, I have had mostly horrid experiences with this school. The principal, Mr. Milton, is unconcerned and indifferent. However, there are a few good teachers, but I fear that ...  Read more

I have a child with special needs that has been there since 6th grade and now is in the 8th grade. He has had outstanding teachers that have worked in every way possible to help him and we are seeing the results of their hard work this year. I would recommend it to anyone. The teachers try anything ...  Read more

Southeast Middle School is not an option if your child enjoys school and desires to learn from teachers who enjoy teaching. The school is not equipped with technology that would enhance their education for college. The School Board inclusion of levels of students seems to be interfering with those ...  Read more

My daughter transferred to Southeast in the early part of 2005. She has been a '504' student with special needs all of her educational years. I notified the office and made sure this was outlined in her registration. However, they did nothing to accomodate her with this..and as a result, for the first ...  Read more

im a student at southeast middle.I think that Mrs.Colvin is a change for the better. I also think that our school should be more interested in students passing and getting a well rounded education than what type of uniform we are wearing. Now that we have a new principal, our extracurricular activities ...  Read more

I attended Southeast middle school as well as my two sisters and now a brother. Although some of the teachers there do try to help you when you need it, most of them don't seem as concerned about the students passing or failing. I am also very dissatisfied with the principal. She seems more concerned ...  Read more

My experience as a parent of a student attending for his third year has been one of disappointment.I find many teachers and staff do not go the extra mile to make sure the children get what they need out of the classes to succeed. It seems they would rather fail the children than help come up with a ...  Read more

I find this school as a whole to not be in the interest of the students. The school leader/principal seems to be more concerned in public politics and trying to get a principal of the year award much more than working with student needs. I do find some individual teachers that will help with my child's ...  Read more
