The school has a very good clean enviroment, it is also a nice learning envirorment. The teachers are not too strict and not too laid back, which makes a great mix. The dress code is not nearly as bad as what people make it out to be, i attended Central High School and it was at least ten times worse

If I could take BHS out of EBR, it would be a wonderful school. Administrators are concerned about providing the best learning environment for students and as a result students who are not concerned about learning find this school very strict. If it wasn't for the absurd 'one-size-fits-all' mandates

I am currently a student teacher at Broadmoor. I have been truly amazed at the quality of this school. Yes, faculty and staff (including myself) worry about uniforms, but it is for the good of the school. Proper uniforms cut down on distractions and ID's are very important for student safety. They

I had one child graduate from Broadmoor and my younger child attended Broadmoor High School for 2 years before we moved her. She is an honor student, takes only honor courses, and makes straight A's. No one helped him plan for college or the future in guidance. The extra curricular activities are not encouraged by the administration. The focus is on dress codes, ID cards, tardies, so on. Academics, unless you are a focused honor student, is not pushed. Extra's are not pushed. The students and many teachers are great. But the overall 'experience' is lacking. I give it a C. There are worse schools, however. Read less

I think the school priciple needs to change his focus alittle and try to make school a little bit more exciting for the students, and maybe come up with some kind of incentives that motivate the students. Broadmoor was once a school kids looked forward to going to now kids find reasons not to go there! This school was once one of the best schools you could send a kid to in East Baton Rouge Parish, unfortuantly now it is probably one of the worst. This school is poor on extracurricular activities. They do not have Drama club anymore, they canceled Music Theater class, and parental involvement is at an all time low. I used to teach at Broadmoor. Here's my concern: even as a teacher, I was able to recognize that discipline was to be emphasized over learning. Pointless five day suspensions where students sit in a room and stare at a wall - what a waste of the student's time, and of their privelege to an education.
