Read what parents are saying about Our Lady Of Lourdes SchoolOLOL school has been a blessing to our family over the past 9 years. Our children have been taught to be good stewards of their communities, to love and respect others, and always believe in their own value. There are so many ways for students and families to participate and be involved. The teachers and school staff care deeply about the kids. They have worked with us to address the learning differences of our daughter. Both of our children are excelling in their studies. OLOL continues to meet National Blue Ribbon standards, and just received formal recognition for a second time just a few years ago. We love Lourdes, and are proud to be Bearcats!
Posted by a parent on 1/17/2021Our daughters love OLOL and are thriving academically and socially. We love the tight community that OLOL has and that is not judging. Our family is thankful for the many extracurricular activities the school offers as it gives families a chance to bond, and students the opportunity to develop character and skills beyond the classroom. We could not be happier with their teachers and the principle. Mr. Bevin is adding new activities to the school and new curriculum to better our children's education. Any one that moves to St. Matthews area should strongly consider this school if you want your kids to have a great education and a strong sense of religious community.
Posted by a parent on 7/2/2020We are in our 2nd year at OLOL and we could not be more pleased with the school! Our daughter has been recognized as being advanced since day one and OLOL has accommodated her, especially in her reading, by putting her in a special reading group to focus on her strong suits. I cannot comment on bullying, as our daughter, being in 1st grade, has not experienced this. However, I can state that OLOL has a compassion-based approach to teaching children values at an early age to help prevent such behavior. If you are looking for a great school, and a great community, I would highly recommend OLOL!
Posted by a parent on 2/13/2018We could not be more pleased with the instructors and leadership at this school. Our son loves it and is thriving academically and socially. Our family is thankful for the many extracurricular activities the school offers as it gives families a chance to bond, and students the opportunity to develop character and skills beyond the classroom. My son especially loves the "school family" concept where older children and younger children are paired to work on projects as a unit throughout the year. This school is special!
Posted by a parent on 7/10/2017Sadly, this school has a high tolerance for bullying and is run more like a sorority or fraternity by its new principal than a safe, nurturing environment for children. Yes, there are some wonderful, faith-filled families who attend this school, but sports is the almighty King here! Additionally, there is scant cultural diversity in the school and, at times, questionable material has been presented to young children that is not age-appropriate while the parent will have little or no influence over that material. I am also aware of the fact that several very active parish school families have recently departed from this school citing similar reasons. My best advice to any parent wanting to raise their child in a loving environment would be to steer clear of this school at all costs unless significant teaching and high level school and parish staff members are replaced.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has poor leader ship, and it shows throughout the whole school, especially high school. There is blatant racism that is not addressed. It is swept under the rug on a regular basis. My son was hit at the school yet he was the one that was punished if you are a person of color, please do not think you are doing your child a service by sending them to this school. You are purely paying for a name. The education is not advanced, and the learning environment is not inclusive. They charge for every single thing and I mean every single thing. They charge if your child has to go to detention, there is no accountability from administration to teachers to children of non-color. My son was called the N-word and the child was suspended for one day. This school is absolutely horrible. They will let you shadow and sell you something that is not going to come to fruition. Long story short this school only wants your money and only if your child is a bright shining star.Parent Review11mo ago - Friends School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Friends School was life changing for our son and family. He attended pre-K there and would have continued to go if we hadn't moved out of state. Our son has ADHD and may possibly be on the spectrum. He has issues dealing with his emotions and had severe behavioral issues. After just one school year, the change in him is amazing to see. He used to be the one who would hit other kids. Now he is the one showing restraint when other kids hit him. He is getting better at sharing and calming himself down. This school is worth every penny and was the best investment we could have made.Parent Review1y ago - Louisville Jewish Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI used to be a student here and honestly my experience was horrible, these teachers don’t care about the students and ignore all students if they need help. I have had times when teachers have talked about kids to other teachers and just been completely rude to others. The teachers only care about them selves and the students can not be themselves. The teachers are not motivational and are very self centered. This school makes you have to be friends with everyone and pushes your kid to be a different kid. The middle school is absolutely horrible and does not prepare you for high school. If you are thinking about putting your kid in this school, DON’T!!Parent Review1y ago - Waldorf School Of Louisville

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy husband and I had two children graduate from 8th grade at Waldorf School Louisville. My daughter went on to attend a Waldorf high School and loved every minute of it! There are many reasons why we felt WSL was the best fit for aour children, but the focus and understanding of child development ranks number one. Not only were the teachers guided in the classroom by the child's developmental stages but also we as parents were given support throughout our journey. Our children now as graduates have incredible emotional intelligence, confidence, and love for learning. We are incredibly indebted to the school for all it gave us!Parent Review6mo ago - Harvey Browne Preschool
