My children have attended HES since it opened. They have gotten a wonderful education and are very involved in school activities including sports and the academic team. The principal now is not a personable person, but he is by no means rude or cruel to the students. Teachers are exceptional!

My children enrolled in Highland Elementary last year and I love the enthusiasm of the faculty and staff. My children felt special and that makes me happy. The principal makes EVERYBODY follow the rules and I feel that makes for a safe and fair environment not only for my children, but for all of them.

He is not there as often as he should be and does not treat teachers or parents with kindness. Parents want to be part of the school, ...  Read more

* In 2007-2008 Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in several subjects. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The results reflect the performance of students enrolled for at least 100 days before testing. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky.
